Gross and fine motor delay

Motor activities or skills require our muscles, nerves and brain to work together in harmony. Gross motor skills involve the bigger muscles in the body doing movements such as rolling, walking, and biking. Fine motor skills involve primarily the smaller muscles of the body doing fine movements like holding a spoon, picking up a coin, cutting with scissors, and writing with a pencil. Mastering these skills takes practice and may sometimes require a professional’s input to overcome certain obstacles along the way. At Stepping Stone we provide a thorough assessment of fine and gross motor skills and provide recommendations and tools to help each little one master their potential.
